Mount Everest Climbers

Michael Andreula from Dynamic Intensity is introducing us to a great new exercise that can be used for conditioning for boxers as well as kickboxers.

When done strictly, it does a good job of working your abs, chest, and shoulders. He is showing us mountain climbers, which he calls Everest Climbers.

They take “Mountain Climbers” to a whole other level. They are a complete body exercise. Many people who don’t exercise with strict form, will just move their legs back and forth and only get a fraction of the results.

You want to keep your chest out, hands down low, to trigger the lower muscle fibers in your chest, shoulders, triceps and keep your abs, back, your core tight.

To get into position, you can either go on your fists or your palms. Chest is out and your shoulder blades are pinched together. Instead of just moving your feet up and back a little bit, which doesn’t do much, bring the foot up to chest level. Then brace yourself and switch at the same time. Don’t bring your hips up.

Keep your upper body tight. You are going to want to bring your hips up, try not to do that. Get your upper body pumped, chest out, elbows bent, every muscle in your body tight and exploding up. You can see every muscle in your body working quickly.

From a sideways view. Abs tight, chest out. Get a good base. Abs nice and tight. Drive your foot up high, and switch.

There you have it.SimpleEverestMountainClimbers. You can do it anywhere. Do it quick. Good posture, chest out, don’t let your butt go up.

Mike is another kickboxing trainer, but many of these exercises can be used for the boxing ring. Mike has an MP3 workout program called 1 Hour Kickboxing Guided Workout. Checkout his website at www.michaelandreula.com.
